Free Paper Shredding at the Batesville Memorial Public Library parking lot. Drive up to the truck and unload.   5 Box Limit.  Truck will leave before 1 PM if it is full.

Items that will be accepted: Office Paper, Computer Paper, Copy Paper, Post-It Notes, Note Pads (no metal bindings), Magazines, Newspapers, Envelopes w/windows, Manilla Folders, Hanging File Folders, Staples, Binder Clips, Paper Clips, Rubber Bands.

At the Emerge: Young Innovators Summit we will bring together seasoned entrepreneurs, industry experts, and innovative thinkers to share their insights, experiences, and strategies for success with local students. From dynamic keynote speeches to interactive break-out sessions and engaging panel discussions, the Emerge: Young Innovators Summit offers a comprehensive overview of the entrepreneurial landscape. Students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in today's competitive business world. 

Genesis: Pathways to Success is an initiative of the Ripley County Community Foundation that is dedicated to nurturing local entrepreneurs and enhancing the entrepreneurial spirit within the Southeastern Indiana region to drive economic growth. 

Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, is an ancient art technique that involves applying a heated wax medium mixed with pigments to a surface. This class will use these classical techniques along with embedding techniques of collage enabling each participant to create a one of a kind piece. 

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

This class will be led by professional artist Thom Maltbie.

There is no cost to the program, but donations are welcomed.

Donations to the Ripley County Community Foundation into one of our endowed funds may be eligible to receive a 50% match on a first-come, first-served basis. (Matching donations cannot exceed $5,000 per fund with up to $105,000 in matching funds). This is also a great day to start your own named fund for a charitable cause.

Additionally, donors have had the opportunity to award money to support their favorite charitable organization when they donate an item to a supply drive that benefits and supports a local nonprofit organization. Each individual who donates items to the supply drive is entered into a $500 drawing to be awarded to a qualified charity of their choice. Much like the hit television series Shark Tank, the D.I.C.E. (Dreams, Ingenuity, Creativity, Entrepreneurship) Challenge is a regional competition in which high school students are tasked to create a business product or service, develop a business plan, and pitch their idea to a panel of seasoned entrepreneurs who serve as judges. Business ideas and plans are evaluated and ranked, with the top 3 teams receiving funding to support their business.

The goal of the D.I.C.E. Challenge is to not only inspire high school students to learn about entrepreneurship and see small business creation and ownership as a viable career goal, but also help students understand the vital role an entrepreneur plays within a community: increasing economic growth, providing access to unique goods and services, and even promoting social change.
