Hosted by the Y Youth Council at the Southeastern Indiana YMCA, this event is the perfect opportunity for incoming sixth graders and middle schoolers to meet new friends, enjoy tasty snacks, and dive into some epic pool games. Whether you're an avid swimmer or just looking to cool off and have fun, join us for an evening of laughter and camaraderie as we celebrate the start of a new school year together. Grab your swimsuit and towel, and let's make a splash at the Middle School Pool Party! Free to all.

Rock Concert Alert!    BRING YOUR LAWN CHAIRS!

Get ready to groove under the summer sky with our upcoming Rock Concert!  Join us for an unforgettable rocking good time. Dane Clark is an Indiana native who has been honing his instrumental (drums, bass, guitar and keyboards) and songwriting skills from an early age. His early influences of British Invasion rock and Dylan era folk music still resonate in his musical vision. Clark began making a name for himself as a session drummer in the Indianapolis area in the early 1980’s. As well as 26 years with John Mellencamp.

Safe Passage invites you to attend their 12th Annual Handbags for Hope Event on August 27th, 2024, beginning at 6pm. This event is a live, silent and online purse auction supporting Safe Passage Inc. in it’s mission to provide Help, Heeling and Hope to build a community free of domestic and sexual violence.

Free Paper Shredding at the Batesville Memorial Public Library parking lot. Drive up to the truck and unload.   5 Box Limit.  Truck will leave before 1 PM if it is full.

Items that will be accepted: Office Paper, Computer Paper, Copy Paper, Post-It Notes, Note Pads (no metal bindings), Magazines, Newspapers, Envelopes w/windows, Manilla Folders, Hanging File Folders, Staples, Binder Clips, Paper Clips, Rubber Bands.

At the Emerge: Young Innovators Summit we will bring together seasoned entrepreneurs, industry experts, and innovative thinkers to share their insights, experiences, and strategies for success with local students. From dynamic keynote speeches to interactive break-out sessions and engaging panel discussions, the Emerge: Young Innovators Summit offers a comprehensive overview of the entrepreneurial landscape. Students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in today's competitive business world. 

Genesis: Pathways to Success is an initiative of the Ripley County Community Foundation that is dedicated to nurturing local entrepreneurs and enhancing the entrepreneurial spirit within the Southeastern Indiana region to drive economic growth. 

Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, is an ancient art technique that involves applying a heated wax medium mixed with pigments to a surface. This class will use these classical techniques along with embedding techniques of collage enabling each participant to create a one of a kind piece. 

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

This class will be led by professional artist Thom Maltbie.

There is no cost to the program, but donations are welcomed.
